Writing user input to a text file

I have a need to write user gathered input to a file as a single line. I not
found any tutorials or code examples that would accomplish this. Would this
require cgi scripting or vb net script or is JavaScript capable?

Yes, if you are talking about a serverside file, serverside j(ava)script
can do that under ASP.

No if you are talking clientside and the user doesn't want to compromize
standard browser security.

Wat is it you want?

I am trying to write a program that asks user for several input items, then takes those items into a class that will manipulate the data and then return a line of output. I am able to input the reuired information, but it's the in-class processing and output line that keeps messing up somehow. I have tried tinkering and tweaking but with no success. How can I take data from the user, manipulate it through a class of steps and then...

I'd like to get some feedback on the issue of storing data out to disk and where to store it. I've never been in a production environment in programming so you'll have to bear with me... My question is about storing data in a database. Yes I understand that you can link to a database in your program and read and write to the database etc etc. Well, that's all find and dandy but what if the person you're writing the application for...

Hey, I am having a problem with a program I am working on. Basically, the first part of the program gets input from a file using cin.getline. Then the second part, (still in the same main as the first part) needs to get input from the user, and I want to do this with cin.getline also. The problem I am getting, is when I run the program, the text if read in from the file correctly, but it seems to just skip over the cin.getline when I want...

Hi I've a template excel file which has all the calculations defined. There are certain input values to be entered which gives a lot of output to the user. I don't want to expose the excel sheet to the user as calculations become visible. I'm writing a web interface which takes the input values from user, updates the excel sheet and returns the recalculated output from the excel file. I'm using ADO.Net to update and read the excel file.

first off, i am an extreme newbie to C. i am an undergrad research assistant and i have been shifted to a project that involves building a fairly involved c program. The part that i am stuck on now is as follows: - i am trying to write code that will take any number of text inputs (names of other text files) and put them into a file line-by-line at the users request. meaning, i want the user to be able to type the strings and enter them...

The purpose: • Sorting and Searching • Numerical Analysis Design Specification You are to write a program called “StockAnalyser”. Your program will read a text file that contains historical price of a stock. The program will allow users to query the stock price of a particular date and output its statistics (mean price, median price and standard deviation) for any specified period. Your program must be menu driven and works as follows.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
