hi,
i have some forms which use javascript for data validation, e.g.,
checking to make sure all required fields are completed, checking that
data falls within valid ranges for certain fields, etc.
if an error occurs, i'm sending the user a message via the alert
window. the form is then not submitted until the errors are corrected.
however, i've discovered that some users using the aol browser are

Hi,
My question is this : how do I detect from
another window which didn't create a new window whether
it exists ? For example, is there a window-id's container
of some sort that hangs around that I can interrogate ?
I would like to find a better way of doing the following.
I have a window (call it Win) that creates a new window (call it Win2)
using window.open().

I have a website which has a popup window (this only opens when the user
chooses to open it). In the popup window I have a <select> control which
lists a selection of "classes". Each class has a description and a class_id
(stored in the value attribute of each option). The user will then select a
class from the drop-down list.
What I want to do is have a control in the parent browser window which can
store the class_id and the...

I did a ton of searching to try and find a simple solution to this issue and finally wrote my own, which I am sharing with everyone. In my searching, I did find a very complete and robust solution at
http://weblogs.asp.net/asmith/archive/2003/09/15/27684.aspx
but it was far more complex then I needed. (I got lost trying to figure it all out). Therefore, here goes my simple "web dialog box with parent event handler fireing" solution.

I am trying to create popup windows with dynamic variable names and
then see if they exist or not.
For example, if I call the function like so openWin("2600","2000") I
would like the function to create a window called
"win26002000". I have tried the following code (and many other
variations) but I cannot get it to work
function openWin(senderID, recipientID)

Is this possible?
I am trying to access function from grand parent window (the main window) in my child popup window but the parent window is closed in this case.
a.jsp --> grand parent window (main browser window)
b.jsp--> parent window (pop up window)
c.jsp--> child window (pop up window)
I need to call a function from a.jsp in c.jsp when b.jsp is closed.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
