I want to stream audio into a hidden frame and load, stop, and control
volume via JavaScript.
I'm thinking w/ Windows Media Player.

Any thought as to how?

The WMP API is well-documented and you can access it with JavaScript
*if* you can ensure that

1. the plugin for the media type will be WMP of the proper version and
2. support for client-side JavaScript support is enabled.

Hi Everyone, I'm trying to speed up a Asp.net 1.1 applications' performance. The application needs to run in an environment with little bandwith and therefore pagesizes and roundtrip times shoud be brought back to a minimum. The application suffered from relatively large screens. A typical aspx page was 500 Kbyte so page load times were in the order of 40 - 50 seconds. After unsufficient loading improvement using .net caching

I would like to have a web page in which, when the user clicks on any of several specific elements, a specific audio file is played, without reloading the page. The specific audio file name is obtained from a PHP script (accessing a MySQL database) that could be called using XMLHttpRequest and JavaScript would write in a "div" tag an "embed and play" HTML tag containing the audio file name. I am not sure this would work, as the embed tag...

Is streaming audio capable in asp.net 2.0 / AJAX? What I mean by streaming audio is: ability to play one or more songs back to back...or maybe even let the user select several songs to play and it will play them back to back. Thanks, Tony K

Hi, I need to build a Media Player using Silverlight/ASP.NET to stream data from a audio/video file on the server. Details: 1. Audio and Video files are separate. 2. Audio is WAV or VOX format. 3. Video is a custom format. Basically just a set of structure, containing compressed bitmaps and timing information, as to when to display the same

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
