Hooking browser Stop button?

Anyone know how to hook a browser's Stop button (event?) in JS? I've
looked through the Document and Window DOM events in my O'Reilly JS
book and don't see anything that stands out. About the closest thing
I've come across is onAbort() in the Image object... I just want to
know if Stop was clicked and if so redirect using parent.location ...

Thanks,
Chris

I have a server page that has served an HTML page with a "Cancel" button on it, BUT this server page has not completed and is running a 15-30 second process before it completes. I want the browser user to be able to terminate the page before the server process has finished. What I tried was an onClick event that issued a "location.href..." in hopes that this would load this referenced page, etc. but I have found that the browser waits...

I'm working on an app that's using the WebBrowser control. I got the control working fine, hooking to the document object. But I've run into a major issue with hooking the Document events. Whenever I hook any of the HTMLDocumnetEvent2_Event events like this: HTMLDocumentEvents2_Event DocEvents = this.Browser.Document as HTMLDocumentEvents2_Event ; DocEvents.oncontextmenu += new...

How can the browser back button be disabled If the form is submitting information to other pages or submitting to itself or using redirections. I tried the tweaks like history.forward(1) in each page to prevent user to navigate back but its not very effective. The server side scripting is done using ASP. you may ask that why at first place I want to disable the browser back

Hello, I try to develop application that runs in the background and suppose to display a small form with menu whenever the user clicks the middle mouse button (also when my application is not the active one). I have found a nice way to do it with hooking mouse events and reactring accordingly. but I'm affriad that this method is a performances killer for the OS. Is there a better way to do it? How "killer" is my way anyway? Thanks!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
