no, JavaScript is running in its Sandbox in the browser and has no access to local resources.

only server-side JS (e.g. nodeJS) could be able to do that.

AIUI, it was not all that long ago when the threat to personal users, was attachments that when executed compromised machines with keyloggers, trojans, etc. Now it seems that the big problem is reading a webpage or an HTML e-mail and getting affected through the scripting. My understanding is that the script downloads the malicious program from the web and sets it to run on start up through the start-up folder or in the registry. I...

I use screen.width to check escreen resolution and then document.write to write different width tables accordingly. It all works OK with Mozilla Firefox, however it seems that in IExplorer it only works when I reload the page. I think it can be cache handling in IE. I tried putting the javascript code in an extrenal js.file. Then i tried calling that file with a random number (using time functions) eg. mycode.js?nn=secondss; but it...

----------------------------------------------------------------------- FAQ Topic - How do I protect my javascript code? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- In the main, you can't as your code is distributed in source form and is easily readable. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
