I don't know much about this.
Clients want a new "printer friendly" page to open when clicking on a
link. I think it can't be done in a way that won't trigger the common
pop up blockers out there.

I have created an order form that users javascript to create a new html
document when the customers clicks the "print page" button.
Once the new document has been created it then prints the document and
closes it with the following code:
<body onload="window.print(); window.close();">
This works correctly (or at least the way I expect it to work under MS
Internet Explorer, but it cuases Netscape to "crash"

Hi,
on button click I want to open new window each time. Currently when I m click on button second time then my new window is replaced with my original window.
We can do it in hyperlink by target="_blank". But what for button ?
So, each time new popup window should be open.

Hi,
For some reason, the website I made does not open pages in a new page
whenever I right-click "Open in New Tab" or "Open in New Window". But, as
soon as I navigate to any other website, the open in new tab/window button
works for them.
Is there some setting I am missing that allows this to feature to work
correctly? I don't have any code purposely preventing pages from being
opened in the same window...don't know why that happens.

I have an .aspx page that creates javascript on the fly within a button
click event handler. The script creates a function AND CALLS THAT SAME
FUNCTION that opens a new window which will contain another .aspx page. The
new popup window opens just fine, however, the parent page from which the
'click' event originated from produces the error "The resource cannot be

On a Page I want a user can select (a)name(s) from a so called "popup" window
as well as selecting a date from a "popup" calendar.
I found some examples by using JavaScript. But my question is can this also
be achieved (and how) without JavaScript, and is it advisable (not using
JavaScript in case its possible)?

While reading c.l.j, I've noticed that some people prefer and indeed even
recommend the use of "window.alert()" over "alert()".
I can't find any technical reason to make this distinction, and seems to
have a (tiny) amount overhead since window itself points to the global
object, hence, a circular reference.
(From everything I am reading, window is just a REFERENCE back to the
global object, as opposed to a separate object.)

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
