Hello,
I hope you can help - I'm a bit new to PHP.
My basic problem is with a page (HTML) which is intended to display an
image slideshow. On this page there are a number of links to click
(one for each slideshow topic) and a "TV screen" to view the results.
The images are stored on the server as (big) JPG files - and when they
are downloaded for the slideshow, I resize them with a PHP script

Hi All,
I am hoping someone can help me. I am trying to setup my main page so that
when the user moves the mouse over an image, it changes the source (got this
working). When the user CLICKS on the image (it is a link to the content
page) it changes to a third image AND STAYS THERE. ie: so the iamge won't
change back to the omouseoff image. Does this make sense?
Also, how do I "preload" the images before they are even needed? eg:...

I've made a gallery site for an artist and it works well -- the gallery
page has a central large image which is swapped when thumbnail images
are clicked. I'm using Dreamweaver's "SwapImage" behavior. The problem
is that this fails under certain versions of IE and possibly NN on PCs
and Macs -- I haven't gotten my client to send me details of what
version he's using (sorry) or any of my 'beta testers' -- but I'm really
getting frustrated....

In my web page I preload images so that when a user clicks on a part of the
image, the image changes.
The images are used to display 4 tabs. Each image shows a different tab as
highlighted. If a user clicks on the 2nd tab, the image changes so that the
2nd tab is highlighted a different colour, and so on.
The image for the 1st tab is displayed initially, and the other 3 are
preloaded using standard Macromedia Dreamweaver JavaScript...

Hello,
Can anyone tell me with certainty?
If I load a server-side image into a javascript image object.
Is the image saved on the client, or does the page go back to
the server when I do for instance an image swap?
Thanks very much for feedback,

Hi. I have one image that has to show up in a html page several times.
To save time, I'd like to preload this image. As an example:
if (document.images) {
tester = new Image()
tester.onload=function() {cImg('good')}
tester.onerror=function() {cImg('bad')}
tester.src="image.jpg"
}
function cImg(typ) {

How can I really delete a preloaded image from memory/disk cache? Let's
say I preload an image by creating an Image object and setting its src
attribute to desired URL:
var img = new Image();
img.src = ;
Then I use the image a few more times by adding it into an Array
object:

Hi everyone!
I'm new to Javascript and am finding so much useful information on this
group, so thanks to you all!
I have a question about preloading images for onmouseover/out effects
and found so many different ways to do it on the Net but am not sure
about something. Right now I have the following code inside my <head>
tag:

I have a javascript timer on my page that counts to 10. Every half
second it alternates images on my buttons from a lighter image to a
darker image, giving the appearance of the buttons blinking. The
problem is, when my Internet Explorer options are set to Check for
newer versions of the page: Every visit to the page, IE will download
those same 2 images every single time from the server. That's 20
downloads in 10 seconds for 2 images....

Hello again, Im using the code below in a child page (popup), the images
are called from the parent page. When the changer is running, the child page goes white between images. I realise this is happening because the Images are not cached (yet) on the users browser.
I tried preloading images with the 2nd code below in the childpage head
and in the parent page head and both. no joy, dosent seem to actually 'preload' the pics. (i also gave...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
