Basically i was wondering how to open a popup window, when the user closes either a website i.e. leaving the website; or closes the entire browser.

You can use the onbeforeunload event (where supported). However, a word of warning: only use it where the user will thank you for it. In other words, use responsibly. There are plenty of cases of misuse which only annoy the user pretty much guaranteeing that you've lost another visitor.

I am using the code below to implement 1 time entry and exit popup.
The entry popup works fine, but the exit popup opens even if you
browse from one page to the other on the same site. I want it to popup
only if the user closes the browser or goes to a different site.

Hello, I have a nice system where someone clicks on a picture to show the
full version. This pops up in a window.open box. It works great, the only
problem is that if the user clicks a second picture before closing the first
then the new picture loads into the original popup box which is often a
different size. How can i make them open in their own popup windows?
