The following is a bug I have discovered using tab pages and threads
and I am looking for a workaround.
Create a new Windows Forms application and add a tab control with two
tab pages. Add a label to each tab page. On the first tab page add a
button. When the button is pressed the code behind the button creates
a thread and starts that thread. The only thing that the thread is to
do is to switch from the first tab page to the 2nd tab...

hi,all
We are going to develop a program and when it is running, we need it full
screen and also, user can not switch to other place before exit our program.
I am thinking, we can make a window full screen, but how to avoid user
switching to other program or windows? And also, there are many hot keys, how
to capture or disable these things?
Thanks

Hi
Is there a way to enable Emacs/Vim style buffer switching in the VC++
editor? For those that don't know this is where you hit a shortcut key
in Emacs/Vim and then type the partial name of the file/buffer/window
and it provides a list of matches to the partial name. It's kinda like
hitting Ctrl+i and doing an incremental search except it matches file
names instead of text.
Any alternative suggestions for quickly moving between files...

Hi,
In a windows.forms application I would BeginInvoke a delegate on the UI
thread to collect data from a database. When the call returns to the
AsyncCallback, if the Control.InvokeRequired = True, I would then have the
Control.BeginInvoke(New AsyncCallback(AddressOf GetDataCallback), New
Object() {ar}).
How would one achieve the same thing on an asp.net page (without using a
webseervice)? In the code below, because the...

There is an aspect of Windows design that I've always disagreed with, and
that is its focus-switching behavior. I'll be typing something, and another
application pops up a message box right in the middle of what I'm doing.
Maybe I'll even hit enter for a line break and instead answer a yes/no
dialogue that I didn't even get a chance to read. Or, perhaps I ctrl-click
on a web link and go off to do something else while I wait for it to load....

I have a parent form which contains a toolbar. The toolbar controls the

Can anyone help me to solve a problem which involves switching from

Sequence of events is =

I had asked a question a few weeks ago about having problems at times
accessing DB2 Express-C 9.1, and getting "SQL1032N No start database manager
command was issued. SQLSTATE=57019" even when the database was in fact
started.
Looks like this is a known issue having to do with "fast user switching".

Hi all,
I have a moderate-side 'Windows Form Application' (C++)
project, with several forms.
For some reason switching between code & designer views
(right-click ;view code' or 'view designer') is very slow.
How slow? It can take more than 10 seconds for a truely
moderate-size form.

Hi all,
I've got an application that's written in C++ making use of MFC (VS6). Its purpose is to process SMS messages received from a GSM modem connected via a serial port (USB connection). The serial communications are handled entirely in their own thread.
For the most part this works perfectly. However, there appears to be a problem where multiple instances of the application are running in different Windows XP environments.
It seems...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
