I am getting strange print-related error messages when trying to
create (not print!) reports. For example, when I click 'new' to create
a report then choose 'design view', I get an error message that says:
'There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object.
The object may have been sent to a printer that was unavailable.'
When I choose 'report wizard', I can go through all of the steps but
then I get an error message...

Hi,
We were going merrily along for 6 years using this database to record
all client checks that came into our office, including information
about what the checks were for.
Suddenly, network computers cannot access the database.
The message is...

I currently have a multi-user access database which is put on a shared
drive L: on a Windows Servers. Entire database is one file premdb.mdb.
Users access this database from their laptops. Following problems
occur:
1. Access is way too slow in WAN environment. Server is located in New
Jersey and users are in California and Puerto Rico.
2. Database often becomes corrupt
3. When one user updates some data in the database, other users...

Discovered this interesting comment on MSDN:
"To programmatically obtain the hard disk's serial number that the
manufacturer assigns, use the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
Win32_PhysicalMedia (a class) property SerialNumber."
I'm sorry to admit it bit I am really undereducated on how to
incorporate some of the Windows SDK stuff into VBA apps. Anyone know
of some sample code that will allow us to read the C drive hardware...

Is there a way to find out where an application was created from?
i.e. - work or home
i.e. - if application sits on a (work) server/network, the IT people know the
application is sitting there, but is there a way they can find out if that
application was put there from a CD or email or created at work?
Hint: It's not on a client/server database, just native jet database mdb
created on Access 2003 (default 2000)...

Hi Everyone,
I have a quick question regarding access to a file from disparate
CHAR_BIT systems. Has anyone had experience writing a file on a system
where CHAR_BIT is one value (let's use the value of 10) and then
reading said file from a system where this value is different (let's
say the common value of 8)?
I'm just curious how this would play out with respect to the standards,
etc. So for example, if I have a system where...

Just a query about how clever access is, I'm using access 97.
When using a "split" database with a separate front-end and with the
data file on a separate server on the network how does access handle
the data; Does it transfer all the data across the network and process
it locally on the front end or does it process it on the server the
data file is held on?
If I put my queries in the access data file on the server would this
result...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
