I have the following function in the onchange event of several text
boxes. If the user enters an invalid number the alert displays. I
would like to return the user to that same field after he closes the
alert but setting the focus as I'm doing here doesn't do it (instead,
the focus goes to the next field).
Any suggestions as to hwo I can make this work?

In the application I am working on there is a Password form where the
user enters their password. I currently have a timer control on the
form that will close the form after 15 seconds.
What I would like is to have some kind of alert or message similar to
a tool tip appear after 10 seconds to warn the user that the form is
about to close.
Is this possible with C#?

I am looking for architecture to push information from a server to a client
browser. This information would be in the form of an alert. What I do not
want to do is have the browser be on a timer and update every few seconds.

Hi
I have a pop-up window which has a task menu on its left which are
nothing but links to different screens. This window also has a close
button. On click of close button I do some server side operation and the
window closes itself. Now the user can close the window by clicking on
X(Top right corner) or by pressing Alt+F4 window. I want to atleast
alert the user when he does these 2 things to inform he has not clicked
on the close...

user tries to close the windows using X box. I want the pop-up to be
displayed when the user clicks on the X box of the browser window (namely,

I'm looking for something like a 'message', just a window that pops up
and goes away after a bit.
I've got a slow machine (an embedded PC) that generates flash movies.
It takes about 30 seconds to make one of these movies. Plus it takes
the browser about 15 seconds to get the new page.
So I'd like to pop up a little "please wait" window that goes away once

My question is this: I use Flex Builder 2 and actionscript 2. Suppose that I have created a simple alert window like that:
var alertWindow:Alert = Alert.Show(message);.
What if I want to close it before user gives an input, let's say 2 seconds after I have opened it? Is there a way to send to this window a CloseEvent? Or do I have to wait
for the user to close it?

button and have a cod that sets a time in seconds so that lets say after 5
sec. the message box closes by itself when the counter reach 0 sec. ?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
