you could either use a cookie or pass variables in a query string such as

link.asp?mode=t est&firstname=b ob&lastname=dol e

then server side you can request the query strings, you can also do this in javascript.

I am trying to make something similar to citysearch.com. For example: If you search for a city, say Raleigh, NC, it will find it for you, but then all other URLs on the page will have the location parameter attached. For example, say "city=raleigh" So, if you go back to the home page, or any other page on the site, that will still be attached to the URL. Is there any easy way to do that? I know PHP has a way to automatically attach...

I have a user control being used instead of a frame page. when the user clicks on a menu item I need to send the ID (integer value) of that menu as a parameter in the postback of the user control which will be used to query sql server to repopulate the datagrid in the user control. I also wrapped the user control in a panel element so I could position it on the page. I'm clueless on how to get started with this.

I have this line of code in my .aspx page <asp:HyperLink ID="hrefView" CssClass="main" ForeColor="blue" Runat="server" NavigateUrl='<%# "View.aspx?id=" + ID.ToString()%>'>View Customer</asp:HyperLink> But when the page runs it shows text only "View Customer" without hyperlink. This is what it was rendered in the page source <a id="hrefView" class="main" style="color:Blue;">View Customer</a>

I have an aspx page (referred to here as page_1) with a datagrid whose first column contains hyperlinks. When a user clicks one of these hyperlinks, he will navigate to another aspx page (referred to here as page_2). I need to cache the value of the link's text (hyperlink.text property) so that I can use it in the page_load event of page_2. I've thought of using a hidden field and then calling Request.Form("hdnClickedLinkText") in the...

Hi, I'm using the DAAB Ent Lib (Jan 2006) for .NET 2.0, with VS 2005 Pro. My project is a Web app project (using the WAP add in). Background: I'm creating a survey system for our company, for which invites will target selected personnel among our customers via email. Each email will provide a custom hyperlink for each respondent using a SQL generated GUID value in the querystring. The GUID will be checked for validity before the user...

I had posted this problem earlier and just noticed that the Hyperlink is the problem. Apparently, it doesn't figure out the path correctly. It uses the path of the file it is in, even if it is a control. I have 2 files "displayCompanyJobs.aspx" and "displayCompanyOverview.aspx" which are in both the folder "/jobseeker/" and "/employer/". I have a user control "displayCompanyJobs.ascx" that is in my /applicant/

Hi There, I need a control on my site that is a hyperlink style control, but it must, 1) Have a property that can hold where the hyperlink is pointing to. (e.g. like the NavigateUrl property in the asp:hyperlink control). 2) Also can call my own method when the user clicks on the link (e.g. like the Click event in the asp:linkbutton control).

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
