With the body tag calling out 'window onload', a function with a
'window.open' fails at the 'window.open' line. If I cut out the body
tag, the function executes as normal.
At first I thought it was the entire function failing, but I tested
with alerts and found that it was only the 'window.open' that fails to
execute.
The function is being called by a link, and I suspected some problem
with the body alink/vlink but after cutting that out...

Thru window.open I can open a word document but I'm NOT ABLE TO
restrict copy, paste and file save as option. So I tried
window.showModalDialog, but thru this I can open only html or text.
My concern is I want to open MS-WORD or EXCEL document only to view
and the user should NOT make any changes or save it. Can anyone help
me

or excel document in Print Preview mode. Bcos I don't want the user to
make any changes or save it but the user can ONLY VIEW OR take a print

Hello.
I have a problem with my Web Application in VB.NET and aspx pages. I try to
open a SaveDialog window, to open or save a document when user clicl on a
button, and Internet Explorer prompts users with two open/save as dialogs.
this happens only when select "Open" button.

I have the following problem under Internet Explorer only:
1. User fills out form data (myform.php) and clicks a button that fires
myFunction()
2. myFunction() spawns a "hello, world" popup page via window.open
3. myFunction() submits the main page's form via document.form.submit()
5. User closes popup window and clicks browser's Back button to return
to form entry page
6. All the form data that the user had filled out is now blank...

I have a datagrid - buit dynamically from a database table - which
contains a column with links to many documents. When the user selects
a link I want them to be able to open the document within the browser
window. This works well. However whenever the link is selected the
user is presented with a File Downloads Dialogue box with the options
