Hi all,
I would like to read the currently used bandwidth using VB.NET or VJ#. I
tried using the PerformanceCounter but this one only displays the
available bandwidth and not the used bandwidth. Can anybody point me to
the solution for this problem?

I'm trying to make a "bandwidth analyzer" using C# (ASP.NET) which will
display the amount of bandwidth used by a website, broken down by direcotry
within the site.
I'm considered analyzing log files to do this or possibly SNMP.... has
anyone ever done something similar and what's a good way to go about it?

Hi, I wrote an app in .Net and I whant only 1 instance of this app open for
the user; the user open my app, do some works and try to open another
instance of my app, I whant to show a message to user to inform him that only
one instance is permit and then close the second instance after that.
I am able to do this when the user run the application on his PC whit this :

Hi, I am trying to find the type of web server being used at a remote
website, but have no idea where to start to be honest. I have written a
webpage class that gathers information about that webpage (keywords and
links etc), I need to find whether the server the webpage is on is either
IIS or Linux etc. Any pointers to a class which I could work with in the

Hi,
I intend to use Ajax for a kiosk application, it's primary usage is to
retrieve live data from my DB, it's a fairly small amount of data (5
fields, of small data size and limited to 15 rows).
When I check my server logs I can see that the kiosk page has used a
fair amount of bandwidth this month, this is obviously because a
javascript timeout refreshes the data every 10 seconds. What I need to

with the central system in the headquaters using web services and the
internet and I want to know how much bandwidth my aplication spend in these
operations. The whole idea is to project how much bandwidth will be necesary
