The button could be the submit button of a form that contains hidden elements, into which you have written the value(s).

Of course if the values are user-entered, there's no need for the elements to be hidden.

OK, this may be impossible since I'm using 3rd party shopping cart ASP software, but I've been able to finagle a lot of other stuff I thought wouldn't work, so here we go: I'm using a form in which users enter numbers to be calculated into a square footage cost. Upon submitting, the results page uses ASP to give the total and the chance to add the new totalled item to the cart or try a new calculation. Part of the cart's software has a...

I'm learning about Server.Transfer to see if it will be worthwhile so we can cut down on the number of session variables we use. And in doing a couple of tests following the .NET Framework SDK documentation (ms-help://MS.NETFrameworkSDKv1.1/cpguidenf/html/cpconpassingservercontrolva luesbetweenpages.htm), the example shows having the textbox controls as Protected, but when I tried to run the example and access the values in the text boxes...

Hi: I am trying to use the Transfer statement in an .aspx file to redirect and send Form and QueryString collections to a different page. A good example where this is needed is a checkout page when you click on the Confirm button, and the client's shopping info (items, amount, etc.)

This has been driving me crazy. server.transfer doesn't set the focus to the page I transfer to so when the user does a refresh, the results aren't what's expected. I have a datagrid on one page that lists the student's guests. At the bottom of the datagrid is an 'add a new guest' button. Users click on this button an it takes them to a new page where they can add a new guest. So they type in the guest information and click on the...

Hi There I am using frames in an .asp application. I have a constant Banner across the top (an .htm file), a variable menu down the left and a main body (both .aspx) I have added a file search facility in the menu down the left which takes user input for an account number (in to a text box) and is supposed to redirect the MAIN page to a customer info screen (on clicking a button in the

I've got an page (LOGIN.ASPX) that receives the user's login information. During the page load, it checks the credentials against a database and, if validation is successful, creates an instance of an object that stores the user's basic profile data (username, user type, associated sales region, etc.). I've been taking this user info and placing it in the Session object like so... Session = user;

Does anyone know how to preserve data after Server.Transfer is used? What is happening is: I am using the Server.Transfer method to send a 3 values from page 1 to page 2 on a website. Then a button is clicked which is suppose to load a hyperlink with 2 of the 3 values from page 1 and 2 new values from page 2. These values will be sent to page 3 through a query string after clicking the newly enabled hyperlink. The problem I am having is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
