an Exception with IE7, Wrong number of arguments

hi guys,

I have XML node object o,and I am trying to know if getAttribute is a
function in the object o, by using
if(typeof o.getAttribute == 'function'), now firefox returns "function", but
IE returns it as "unknown",
when I tried to access the property as o.getAttribute , it through an
exception as :
"Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment".

any help ?

thanks.

I get the same results here. The questions is: why would you attempt to get
the value of a host object's method? The result in IE, as odd as it may
seem, complies with the ECMAScript Specification which says that a host
object may implement the internal [[Get]] method "in any manner" (ES3 Final,
section 8.6.2).

BTW, your From and Message-ID headers do not comply with Internet standards;
please fix that. Also, you should avoid manual word-wrap in automatically
wrapped text; it reduces the legibility of your postings.

Hi, I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me with this one, I'm developing an application which basically inserts a load of data into the database ready for validation at a later date, I wrote an INSERT statement that works fine however today I decided that as part of the application upgrade it should be return the record ID so I wrote the following which I admit is a little messy at places but it works. However when I added all...

I'm using a matrix and vector library, that won't compile. When running g++ I get the error message "macro "minor" passed 5 arguments, but takes just 1" The definition of "minor" looks like below, and it takes 3 arguments. All calls to minor that I have found in the code also pass it three arguments, so I really don't understand this error. Does anything look suspicious with the following definition, or must it be that there is some...

This is a long one, so I'll summarize: 1. What are your opinions on raising an exception within the constructor of a (custom) exception? 2. How do -you- validate arguments in your own exception constructors? I've noticed that, f.ex., ArgumentException accepts null arguments without raising ArgumentNullException. Obviously, if nothing is to be supplied to the exception constructor, the default constructor should

Hi everyone, I'm stumped over what is probably (hopefully?) a very simple problem. Suppose I have a class that multiply inherits from two classes, call them A and B. A inherits from a class that takes any number of arguments in __init__. B does not inherit from anything and requires one argument. For reasons I don't understand, if A inherits from Exception, unpickling fails due to a TypeError: __init__() takes exactly 2 arguments...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
