If I am understanding you correctly, drop down 2 is dependant on what drop down 1 is. If this is the case, you need to use Javascript (AJAX) in conjunction with a server side language for running all your queries.

Yep, Ajax is the way to go here. The other approach of loading three Javascript arrays when the page loads and playing around with them using javascript also works but is dirtier and does not reflect real time changes of data in the database.
F ny one knows a reference to this kind of a problem(i.e dependent drop down lists+ajax)pls reply .thnx

You've already been pointed in the right direction. any Ajax tutorial will show you how it's done. All it takes is a little bit of reading*. If you get stuck with some code then you can post in the Javascript/Ajax forum
*reading - an extinct art which students used to obtain information.

What would be the most effective method to serialize this kind of data

Thanks for any hints,

Hi,
I have a form with several combo boxes, continuous form format, with
record source a query off an Item Table. The fields are Category,
Subcategory, and Color. I am displaying descriptions, not ID's, so I
have to convert the ID's from various lookup tables.
The combo boxes work fine except for subcategory, which is dependent on
category. Depending on category, the drop-down box for subcategory
will display different items. (for...

We have a drop down list on a PHP page, with several product names, and
when people click one item, we will refresh the same page with the
product name as parameter, and in turn we want to include a HTML file
into the content area of the same page.
I know it is recommended to put everything into database, but we want
the web site to be very "portable", so the drop-downlist and the
content should both in text files.
Let's say the...

Hi there
I have a option, select drop down list which a user can open. My page
however refreshes very frequently and when this occurs the selected
drop down list will pop back up. The user then has to open the drop
down list again.
I just wondered if there was a way using javascript to firstly detect
if the user has selected the drop down list and if so, on refresh to
set that drop down list to stay dropped down?

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
