How to call Javascript in a .js file from HTML when both are in the same signed JAR?

3 New Member
I have a signed JAR which contains an HTML page and a .JS file full of various Javascripts.

I am attempting to call some of the JS from the HTML. I have tried both
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <script src="DnDTest.js" language=javascript></script>
and
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <script src="jar://localhost/output.jar!/DnDTest.js" language=javascript></script>
, but it still doesn't recognize the JS function in the DnDTest.js file in the output.jar.

These functions can be reached from HTML outside of the jar, so I know the file and function names are correct.

Please help (newbie alert).

I have a script used for automated file uploads (so people can create a list and walk away). It currently works by uploading files all at once. However, for security, tracking, and backups, I want to do it one by one. The way I would like to do it is to have a list of the files sent to the server, then the server sends a script back to start the transfer of the first file. When it's done, it should send back the script to start the...

I have absolutely no experience in Javascript although am a programmer by trade. I have a problem in a third-party system, as follows. The system uses "web" forms to capture and save data. When the form is called up it should "remember" some field contents from previous sessions. It works intermittently, other times produces "error on page" errors. I have narrowed it down to some lines in a Javascript script that is called when...

I'm going to write a client-side web app that deals with local files. This web app targets mainly public or corporate browser terminals. Normally I would write an Applet because that's what I know (and because of Java's extensive library of functions), but I've found that there are many headaches dealing with Applets in that kind of environment. Not every IT department installs the Sun JRE and it is usually difficult if not impossible for...

I am trying to make an XMLHttpRequest which violates the default "same- origin"policy in Firefox. I checked the archives and found a method that should work but it does not. Below is the test code I isolated. I set signed.applets.codebase_principal_support true and seemed to get the UniversalBrowserRead permission but then the open still failed with the same old "Permission denied to call method XMLHttpRequest.open" error. Can someone tell...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
