Hi. I know the basic way to assign event handlers: <input onKeyUp="processEvent(event)" /> But how do I assign a function to the onKeyUp event in *javascript* that can access the event object? // get inputElement alert("Some java script code"); inputElement.onkeyup = ????;

I have problem to get onkeyup event. If we put the event in HTML statement like - "<input name=field1 size=16 onkeyup="javascript:function1();>" it works. If we put in JavaScript code like this var oElmt = document.createElement("input"); :

My overall objective is to create something akin to Google Suggest, where a query is done in response to changes in a text field presented to the user. I've got things working using the onkeyup event and some AJAX techniques, but I am troubled by one thing: the more characters that are entered, the slower the interface is to settle down, because a discrete lookup is done each time the field changes by a single character.

The first text on my form is a numeric field. I have a javascript that runs on this field for onkeyup (validate the key strokes and modifies fields on the screen) but when I do this and have the autopostback on, the autopostback does not trigger. The autopostback will trigger if I hit the enter key while in the textbox but not when I leave focus. Here is the code for the textbox. <asp:textbox class="required" AutoPostBack="True"...

I have a form with 4 text input fields. The last one is the total of the previous three fields and should automatically calculate this value when a user enters data into any of the first 3. Normally I would put an onkeyup="" event on the input elements and have that call the function. However, this form is automatically generated based upon information in an XML file. I can add some HTML and Javascript to the page via the XML file, but cannot...

Hi, this is quite important & urgent for me. I use JDeveloper (JSF ADF BC) and on my web page I'm using onkeyup event of inputText in which I've added: var browserName=navigator.appName; if (browserName=="Netscape"){ if(event.keyCode==13) this.onchange(event); }else{ if (browserName=="Microsoft Internet Explorer"){ if(window.event.keyCode==13)this.onchange(event);

The code below correctly sets an iframe to be editable, and then tries to attach an "onkeyup" event to the iframe. Instead of doing that, however, it generates a cryptic "Object required" error in Explorer 7, and doesn't seem to do anything at all in Firefox. Am I missing something really basic? Thanks for any help. --Brent

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
