Hi, I'm running a company intranet and the portion in question is the
company message board. Its becoming a very integral part of company
discussion on most of our projects. What I would like to be able to do is
have it so that a user can leave the message board opened and minimized and
have it alert him in some way when something new has been posted.
Unfortunately i dont want to just keep auto-refreshing the page at certain
intervals...

Given some recent success on a simple form validation (mainly due to
the kind folks in this forum), I've tried to tackle something a bit
more difficult. I'm pulling data down from a database and populating a
simple table. I'd like the table to contain 10 entries per page and
have the option for the user to scroll through the pages of data
without having to go back to refresh the page (I've already pulled all
the info I need from the...

Hello,
I have a seemingly basic question about ASP.NET. I would like to
create a page containing an image, which keeps swapping the url of the
image source, without refreshing the entire page. So when the page
first loads I'd like the image url to be "img1.gif"; then 20 seconds
later "img2.gif"; then "img3.gif", and so on. All this should take
place dynamically without refreshing the page.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi All:
I am pretty new at ASP.NET development. Currently I need to build a Web
Server app using C# and ASP.NET to automatically and repeatly refresh data
changes at fixed intervals (2 to 30 secs) occurring at the server side, and
refresh them at the table fields at the Browser screen without any user
intervention.
Typically, the user submit to the Server URL which returns a page that has a
lot of table fields in it but without any...

Hi,
One ASP.NET transactional page conducts a long transaction in a button
click function.
I want to display the transaction progress info in label control
without refreshing page.
It is because page refreshing will commit the transaction
automatically.
How to do it?

I could use some help with a table design problem.
I have an electronic flashcard program. Actually, several of them.
They each rely on a utility program to keep track of the usage
statistics. After each practice session, the utility program tells the
flashcard program which items were learned and whihc need more
practice.
The drill stats are trracked by 3 indices: user, subject, and item.

Hello.
We're developing an ASP.NET 2.0 (C#) application and we're trying to
AJAX-enable it. We're having problem with a page not showing the page while
a long-running process is executing. So, we're looking for a way to display
the page with a "please wait..." message while the process is running, and
then, when the process is done, update the page with the actual results/page
content.
We have a page that opens another browser/page...

Hi,
I have been experiencing an issue when trying to use AJAX to reload a DIV area
using a timer of 2000ms, which contains a html page with another DIV and javascript.
Scenario
-------------
I have perl script which simply runs a ps on a Solaris server and generates
a static html page with all of the code perfectly and this html page works fine
when viewing it statically or with a META REFRESH header tag. The idea is to give the user...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
