(Sorry if this is a repost...my newsreader keeps crashing on the
posting--I don't know if the message going out or not)
For some reason this javascript just won't work in Firefox. It works
fine in
IE, though.
I know, IE is a bit more permissive than IE, and sometimes lets errors
work
when they shouldn't. But from what I can see, I just don't see what's
wrong.

Hi, I use a handy little Javascript Flash detection script on a number
of sites (copied below). Usually works great, but I just started
trying Firefox and it's not working. A few browsers are referenced in
the script so I presume that Firefox needs to be added somewhere --
does anyone know how I could update this to be supported by Firefox?

This one is driving me insane. The script works perfect on Firefox,
but Internet Explorer keeps complaining about "Error Object Expected"
and stuff like that. I've run it through Firefox's Java Console, and
it comes back with no errors. Any pointers on this, would be much
appreciated.

Hi,
i am a oo (c#) programmer, and have not used javascript for a while and
i cant work out how javascript manages its references. Object
References work for simple stuff, but once i have an object collection
and stanrd using it it starts to fall apart.
Clearly there is something about javascript's usage of passing "By ref"
that i am not getting. i have had a look on the web and found some
examples, but i cant see why my code does not...

Hi there,
I subscribed to a photographic pictures-hosting website which is heavy
on JavaScript. My preferred latest browser Mozilla Firefox does not
work with it -- no pictures are displayed and no buttons react to
clicking. The website's helpdesk says it should work with Firefox, and
could not offer any more advices. The JavaScript Console shows that
there are numerous errors occuring. It looks like the web browser does
not recognise...

I have some javascript code that errors in FireFox, but only when I use a DOCTYPE expression at the top of the page - until I added that, it worked fine in both IE and FireFox.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
