hi ...

call a javascript-function 'onsubmit' that compares the two passwordfields ... in case they do not match use the focus() method to set the focus to the desired input field ... but be aware ... you have to validate the passwords on the server too ... everybody may modify the script locally ... and you cannot rely on clientside validation ... especially in such security-relevant cases ...

kind regards ...

There's something I can't figure out. I added some javascript behavior to my datagrid, just like in this article, except in C# instead of VB: http://www.dotnetbips.com/displayarticle.aspx?id=205 If I bind the datagrid to the dataset at all times, whether Postback or not, then everything works fine. However if I only bind it when Page...

I did a ton of searching to try and find a simple solution to this issue and finally wrote my own, which I am sharing with everyone. In my searching, I did find a very complete and robust solution at http://weblogs.asp.net/asmith/archive/2003/09/15/27684.aspx but it was far more complex then I needed. (I got lost trying to figure it all...

I have an ASPX page with a bunch of System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button controls on it. By default, clicking on any of these causes a Postback. I'd like to have it so that for a couple of these buttons, no PostBack occurs - and rather some client-side script is executed (with no postback subsequently occuring). I have wired up the client-side...

I am trying to get javascript to cause a page to post back. I have tried calling _doPostBack from my script, but generates an error "object expected". I think this is because the page's script doesn't contain the method _doPostBack, which needs to be added by asp.net. How can I make asp.net add this script? Thanks, ME --

Hi, I'm wondering how I can generate a postback using javascript on a page that does not have any controls with the auto-postback property set to true. I know I can just use the submit() function but this triggers page validation which I do not want. What I'm trying to do is dynamically write in a hyperlink that when clicked will remove an...

Hi, This aspx page (let's call it thispage.aspx) fetches data from a sqldatasource, then performs several things (in code-behind) and, to simplify, passes data from code-behind via a hiddenfield to a javascript in the aspx file. This javascript performs things and finally send data via a form to another database. My problem is that when...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
