This is something I've done plenty of times in '97, but I can't seem to get it to work correctly in Access 2003. Say, for example, I have a form with an unbound combobox, the data source is a table of customers, first column is the key field, which is hidden with a 0" width, and the second column is the customer name. The SQL is a union query that also inserts Null in the first column, and "All" in the second column. That combobox gets...

I have a bound combobox the appears on a cell within the column of my bound grid when the user clicks on a cell n(In my vb.net WinForm app). I am trying to allow the adding of an item to that bound combo by allowing the user to dynamically type in the new value directly in the combo box whcih in turn updates the lookup table and then when they have finished leaves that particular cell on the grid with the correct value. Seems...

Hello, For my new Windows application, all I want is to create an initial form to demo to the user to show them how it looks like with some data on it. So I figure the fastest way is to create some comboBox-es to show some data on them manually entered in the code without connecting to the database yet. It should be simple but somehow I can't make it work. First, I drag a comboBox from the ToolBox to the form. Then,

I have a need for a simple combobox on a form in one of my programs that represents city, state. I want to have it autocomplete as the user types. I have a table with these values (about 50k of them) and I'd like to source it from there. I have seen some methods out there for the autocomplete, but I think that pulling 50k in the combobox might be too slow at runtime to build a table of all those records and then bind the entire combobox...

Hi, two parts to my problem if someone can help address either one or both: 1. I want to SELECT everything in the table if it matches the criteria when the query button is pressed (this is just a commandbutton on my form). The biggest problem I'm having is that I can't (don't know how) populate a combobox on static items such as "True, False, Any." The Any field, would be selected by the user to find all records where that fields is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
