with strict HTML spec, can one have <p> tags inside table's <td> tag?
also, in strict XHTML, can one have <p> tages inside <div>?
Thanks.

I know this must seem totally basic and stupid, but I cannot find any reference that describes how to control the spacing between <p>...</p> and
<div>...</div> blocks. When I implement these on a page, there is a huge gap (like 3/8 inch or 25 px) between them. This is driving me bananas.
What the hey am I missing?

From XML specification:
The
representation of an empty element is either a start-tag immediately
followed by an end-tag, or an empty-element tag.
(This means that <foo></foo> is equal to <foo/>)
From XHTML specification:

Here is the problem. The following script/html code works in IE, not
Netscape. The javascript portion produces the text to be dynamically written
in the
<A HREF="">HEREHEREHERE</A> portion...
The HEREHEREHEREHERE writes fine in internet explorer, but does not appear
at all in Netscape 7.1. I think it might have something to do with layers...
How do I correct this? Thanks.

I'm playing with dragable <DIV>s, being inspired by google.com/ig,
where you can move items on the page around and have items you move
over change position if necessary.
I have 3 div's setup, one for each dragable item (boxes about
100x150px), inside another div that sets up a border.
my script is instigated by an onMouseOver event and works great for
moving items, setting the opacity, etc. The only trouble is (and I
guess I should...

I would like to know how I loop through a html file and validate it is the
type of element I am seeking and then change something in the element.
IE
for(x=0;x<this.document.elements.length;x++)
{
if(this.element.type= = "<DIV>")
{
this.element.z-index=1;

I'm sure I've got this working before, but I always forget how to do it,
because CSS isn't intuitive in this case. I got a simple 2 column layout:
<div id="container">
<div id="left">
</div>
<div id="right">
</div>

1. Horizontal centering a <divin browser window.
The current trend seems to be to place page content in a fixed width area in the middle of the
browser window. How is this achieved? If I use a top level <divthen I can place it with CSS
attribute 'left:', but this is a fixed offset. Is it possible to have a <divcentered in the
browser window?
2. Verticle centering in <div>

Hi,
I am used to working with tables in Dreamweaver. However, my office wants to use the <div> tag instead of tables. Since I am new to this I wonder how I can recreate my left-side navigation bar to a div? For instance, how to I layout my rollover image buttons that are currently in cells, to align in a div? How can I create same layout by using left-side nav bar, header, and content in center of page? How do I define these elements to align...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
