Sorry, not possible. The user chooses to disable Javascript, not the developer who wrote the web page.

They don't disable javascript, but it just means that there's no javascript left to run on the page.

You don't want javascript to run, take it off the page.

As I said earlier, the developer/programmer have no control over a user's javascript settings and a good job too.

I'm puzzled. Why do you want to disable javascript? I never said that it would disable javascript, but by not putting javascript on the page, it would achieve the same effect, i.e. no javascript is run, which is obviously what you want with what you're asking.
Also I would like to tell you that I have got solution to all my posted problems.
That's good to hear.

No problem. You're welcome.

Just perform an object detection, i.e. check if the object exists. If it does, run your javascript code, otherwise return.

Read about object detection here and here.

Does anyone know how to disable javascript in the new Netscape 8 -- for off line testing (like can be done readily with the current MSIE, Firefox or Opera browsers) ? When I try tools -> options -> site controls -> web features and check or uncheck the 'enable javascript' box, nothing changes -- it stays enabled. I've searched FAQs, archives and google about the issue, with no luck.

Hello, In my C# asp.net 2.0 application, I have a webform with a button server control on it. The webform, like most others in the site, subscribes to a master page. I have determined that the button always renders with an id of "ct100_ContentPlaceHolder1_btnContinue" in both the IE and Firefox browsers. I created the following javascript code segment to disable it when the page loads. I have reasons for not wanting to do this with...

I know 'disable-output-escaping' has been discussed in the past, but I can't put my finger on any of the threads to see if my current problem is addressed. Sorry for re-asking the question if it has already been answered... I have an XML doc that I am transforming via XSLT and JavaScript in the browser. This allows me to return unsorted data to the browser and allow the user to sort it with a mouseclick and not hit the server just...

My question is not about Javascript programming. I'd like to use a browser, either IE or Firefox or whatever, that allows me to disable a specific Javascript function but not disable Javascript completely. Specifically I don't want to see text slowly moving across screen on some stupid web sites. I assume they're all done with setInterval(). Is there a way to disable that in any browser? Thanks. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
