Hi, I tried to do this: -
mailstr = "mailto:recipient@domain.com?subject=subjecextract&body=assg";
-
-
mailform = document.getElementById("mailform");
-
mailform.setAttribute('action',mailstr);
-
mailform.submit();
-
However the mail only shows the recipient and not the rest of the values.
Anybody knows what I do wrong or is it only Firefox?

thanks for the link, however it didn't really help.
made it work but I'm not really sure why it works now. added onclick on the button, still submit the form. maybe it was because the form was empty that it didn't do anything. added onclick on the button and action, but like I said, I have no clue why.

hi
I'm would like my app to send a preformatted email(with subject and
body) everytime a user pushed a button, like : onclick "
mailto:this@that.com" , without the user seeing anything, i.e. not
being able to edit the message.
Using php, this is very simple; mail("this@example.com", "Subject",
"Line 1\nLine 2\nLine 3");

Hi,
How do i add a hyperlink to a email id having special characters?
I tried the same , say mailto: test_&_send@hoohoo.com
IN the to box i can see only till test_ and the rest is omitted.
Any ideas how the tags could be bypassed?
Though i am not a web page designer, I tried & but with no luck.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Any experts on mailto: tags?
I want to set a link so that the subject and some of the body of the
email is filled in. This is easy for simple text, although you need to
use %20 for spaces:
<a href="mailto:nobody@nowhere.com
?subject=Your web site
&body=This%20is%20the%20%body!">
click here</a>

I am using VB.NET and invoking a function that opens the user's default mail
client with a pre-stored list of email addresses and subject. I find that if
the string containing the list of email addresses is longer than about 250
chars, I get an error complaining that "Object reference not set to an
instance of an object.". If the list of emails is less than about 250 chars,
everything works fine. Does anyone have a solution for this or an...

I have a ASP page that after saveing data to the database it will
write the following script code to the page:
<script>
document.location='mailto:or@mailadr.se?body=http://myWebserver/page.asp?docID=17&login=HAL&subject=report';
</script>
This all looks well but when I se the actual mail the &login=LAS part
of the link in the body is not there! The subject is correct! It all
looks ok apart from the missing part of the links querystring.

I am trying to get users to fill in a form on a web page, then click a
button to send an e-mail. I am using JavaScript to get the fields from
the form, then run a mailto command to put the information into an
email.
I can create a mailto link in the page using innerHTML, but it seems
silly to click a button, a link appears, then click on the link.
How do I execute the mailto command using JavaScript?

Hello,
I have about 60+ pages that I need to insert a MAILTO: tag so people can
email the page using their email client. The body of the message is
going to be the URL of that page. Using ASP, how can I insert the page
URL in the email body without having to manually enter each URL for each
MAILTO: tag? Is there a variable that can be used inside the MAILTO: tag
that automatically inserts the current page's URL into the body of the...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
