I wrote a quick app to play music and I am having difficulty connecting a
slider control to the Windows Media Player control. Here is my difficulty. I
need to set the sliders min and max properties and utilize its value
property to manage the volume of the Windows Media Player control. I am not
sure which property on the windows media control I am suppose to manipulate.
I tried to use the following: mp.volume = vsVol.value in the sliders...

I'm coding up a program using VB.NET that records songs that users queue
up. The program works pretty well, I've picked up bits and pieces from
various websites on how to use mcisendstring, using WMP component, and other
things. I've gotten over various hurdles by using threading (for a timeleft
string) and other things I've figured out. Now, I need to do just a couple
of things to have my program work really well for the user.
Most...

Ok I am not a programmer, I copied some code and very painfully got it
working in VB6. I can adjust the volume with waveOutSetVolume on winmm.dll.
But I could not seem to be able to figure out how to adjust the master
volume. I thought maybe if I upgraded this into VS2005 VB.Net then it might
be a little easier. But now I am getting PInvokeStackImbalance messages on
this, and it doesn't even run. We're talking a very little program... A...

Hello ,
I am looking for help in controlling the volume of a media file in a
vb.net application. The code that I currently have (attached below)
tries to control the master volume which finally affects all
applications opened, whereas I want to control the volume only for my
application alone. I have a trackbar control on my form to scroll
values and increase/decrease the volume. How would I control the volume
for the media file opened...

Hi,
Can someone give me some help on setting the master volume control in Vista.
I've looked everywhere and there seems to be very little help on this. The
only information I can find is that I should be using
IAudioEndpointVolume::SetMasterVolumeLevelScalar , but no ideal how to go
about this in managed code.
Anyone know how to do this?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
