Activex loading/swf & menu files

Hello,

I am using Frontpage 2003 for a site design. I have 2 .swf files on
the page as well as a menu bar (with cascading menus- created with All
Web Menus Pro) that are on the page. When I preview in Firefox the
movies and menu load automatically. However, when I preview in
Internet Explorer 7 (the only IE browser I have available), it prompts
me to load the ActiveX control before it will load the movie files or
the menu. Is there any way to force Frontpage to include these files
in such a way that they will always load with IE? I'd prefer my
visitors not have to deal with the ActiveX prompt.

I really appreciate your help--

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, loading the flash with a javascript call gets round the
license restriction that's at the heart of this problem: see this site
for a script that does this and that explains the problem nicely

I originally had VB.Net standard installed on my computer. I have subsequently installed Visual Studio .Net 2002 on my computer. I have not uninstalled VB.Net. When I look in my Add/Remove programs - there are two entries - one for VB.Net and the other for Visual Studio .Net. Both entries are over 1 GB in size. My question is whether the VB.Net is redundant information

Hi there, I'm not a flash programmer myself but I work with some of them. It seems whenever I browse to a page developped by these folks the browser receives it as if there were ActiveX content (but there is none). I think there is a relationship between ActiveX and Flash, but I believe they are separate. The problem is, on explorer, for security and sanity reason I have completely disabled activeX and it prevents me from seeing the...

Hi All, I have an annoying trouble with binary serialization. I have a windows forms application which works like a server and keeps sending data to its clients. The data is serialized before being sent using BinaryFormatter and a serializable object. When using a windows forms application as a client, everything works just fine and deserialized data can be received intact. When the client application is is embedded in Internet Explorer (I...

Hello, I need to dynamically load an activex object because what object to load is based on certain conditions. Also I need to wait for the object to have initialized before moving on. What I did was having the activex object set a variable and have the javascript spin on that variable (a wait function)... function load() { var newsection = document.createElement('div');

When a Button is clicked in a Web Form in an ASPX page, the Form will post back to itself. Under such circumstances (i.e. when a Button is clicked), will the Page_Load sub execute first & then will the Click event function of the Button execute or will the Click event function of the Button execute first & then will the Page_Load sub execute? Thanks, Arpan

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
