Not really a Javascript question. Perhaps you can ask this in the tech. forum for miscellaneous discussions.

All I know is that the browser shows a progress bar until the page is loaded. Once it is loaded or cancelled by the user, the progress bar no longer shows.

In terms of the server, the client is making a request to the server. The server returns a response. See this page.

To all Mozilla JS Guru's (IE dudes welcome), I have spent the last three years developing complex DHTML applications that must work in IE 5.5sp2+ but I use Mozilla 1.3+** to do all my development. I have build some cross browser debuggers so my users can send me verbose debug dumps. I have some success but have come to a roadblock with the basic underlying JavaScript models. The only way to get a complete stack in IE is to use the...

I wasn't sure where to post this so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. But I would like to know what some of the differences are between client-side and server-side browser sniffing. I'm aware the client-side stops certain errors being transmitted so saves on bandwidth and server-side my catch errors that are missed on the client-side. Anything else would be great. Thanks.

Hey all, I'm trying to write a proxy server so that I can capture all data sent from my web browser to any web server and then capture the response from the server and send that back to the browser. However, I've encountered a strange problem where the browser will not load the data sent to it from my proxy server. I'm successfully able to capture the data sent from the browser, then I'm able to capture the data sent back from the web...

How to trap browser close event in SERVER side? I read a lot of forum message, it talk about onclose(), onunload() and even onbeforeunload() event. However, all of theses are based on javascript written on the client browser , like IE. To send a POST to web server to acknowledge its close event. However, I just think, web server and client browser is a TCP connection. And if the client browser is close and it imply the TCP socket is...

How could I directly trigger a very simple on localhost and a known port listening server from my internet browser client? Local host means the little server would be running on the client machine, where my browser resides. Browser would be IE, O.S. Windows 2000 or XP, and it's for an intranet application. The goal of the little server on the localhost client side would be to trigger a scanner, with the TWAIN library. Also this server is...

I have a Javascript program which runs in the browser and has functions work(), and stop(). It listens to commands from the server to work() and can be interrupted by the server to stop(). I am using XmlHttpRequest to talk to the server. So I use http GET to send a command "ready" to the server, which replies at some point in time by sending "work" which is invoked by the callback. As per my understanding, the browser client is single...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
