Hi there, when I use Firefox to run my application (this involves
sending an IFRAME request to the servlet and handling the response),
there is no delay in displaying the data after each response. But when
I use IE, there seems to be a 1-2 second delay. The script sends a
request using IFrame, goes through a loop to return script tags
containing data to the browser, and then data is displayed by the
browser and a new request is sent. For IE, when a new request is sent,
the delay in receiving the response is quite noticeable. Why does it
do that? Any help would be much appreciated.

It would be interesting to know where the delay occurs, on the client or
the server. With IE, you can easily set up Fiddler to observe the HTTP
requests/response. Also, adding some time-logging code on the client and
on the server can help. The delay is probably rather on the client, but
it's a good start to know exactly where it occurs.

The delay occurs on the client side. I did a println in my servlet and
it doesn't seem to be the problem. I don't understand why it would be
delayed though.

Machines in question may have "fishing protection" or antivirus
activated for IE. Extra time may be needed to check the submission URL

Hello-
I was amazed at the suckerfish drop-downs from AListApart.com. They
work great except for one thing, if I position the drop-downs over an
iframe element, on mouseover the menus disappear. It works fine in IE,
but not FireFox. I would like to implement these menus, but if I can't
get this to work, I gotta look at something else.
If anyone has some suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Ladies & Gentlemen:
I have built a form that client-side validates and posts data to a CRM
beautifully in Internet Explorer (IE) 6. The problem comes in FireFox
(FF) 1.5 when everything works except the validation. In FF it posts
fine to my CRM but with no validation!

Simple question, I want to receive compressed data from a server using
AJAX.
At the client I make an xmlHttpRequest. Next I want to set the
accept-header to Gzip, but I keep getting errors on that under opera.
At server-side I first check the accept-header, if it supports gzip I
make a ZIP-stream and set the content-encoding to gzip. Normaly I would
think the browser itself can handle it and give the uncompressed
response.

I have a flash interactive window which has html links and this
appears on an html page. This window can be moved with the mouse on
the html page. The html page has an iFrame too. When the flash window
comes above the iframe area the html links stop working. Yet the links
remain active when the flash window is outside the iFrame area. This
