Opening a page with frames in another window

2 New Member
Hi, hope someone can help me with the following:
I want to open a new window where another webpage with 3 frames is loaded. My problem is: another page should be loaded in the 3rd frame instead of the fixed page.
For instance: the webpage that will be loaded on opening will have welkom.html as the 'mainframe'. I want it to be another page.
Thanks.

Post some code. Your description isn't totally clear, the code will help things along.

I have a page with a random link:

<a href="http://www.page.nl" target="_blank" >Link</a>

Say www.page.nl is based on 3 frames of which welcome.html is the 'main' page. But I want goodbye.html as the main page only when you click on Link. So if someone was to type in www.page.nl the main page should be welcome.html and if someone was to click on 'Link' the main page should be goodbye.html.

Does this help?

you would add a javascript on the page with the frames and base where to put the link off of a query string
bleh.html?where =bottom for example.

http://www.lissaexplains.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=35747

check this link to read query strings via javascript.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to perform the following 2 tasks in Javascript: 1) distinguish between frames and iframes (during an onload event for example) 2) figure out whether a container page has finished loading completely with all its component frames or iframes (onload event is not useful because we have more than one onload, and container page onload is not

Hello, I am trying to open a window containing an image and I would like the image to be flush against the window -- i.e. have no padding or border. Can I make this happen with a single call to a window.open function? I would prefer not to create a separate HTML page. So far all I have is the basic var cwin = window.open('images/KJV-THANKS.gif', 'Thanks', 'width=243,height=420,'); cwin.focus();

Hi, I'm trying to load a page external to my website into my frame. I have several links on my page that work fine but when connecting to the site http://www.formulaboats.com I am forced out of my frames and the above link is opened in the whole window. I'm assuming the formualboats site has stopped people from opening their pages in frames but my questions are 1. How did they do this? Is it an HTML thing or a javascript thing? 2. Is...

I have an html page that has 2 frames ("input" and "result"). In the "input" frame, there is a text box and a button. User enters an id in the text box, then click on the button. In the click event, I would like to call an asp.net page, and passing in the text box value as a query string parameter (http://mysite/mypage.aspx?id=x) and display the result in the "result" frame. Hello all, On occasion I want to open hyperlinks (images, etc.) in a new window. In the past, I've used target="_blank" to open the link in a new window. However, using the "target" attribute causes my pages to fail validation (strict doctype). The validator says "There is no attribute 'target'.." So...how do I open a link in a new window, without Javscript, and pass strict validation?

Using javascript, is there a way to trap an external page inside a frame? I've seen scripts to break out of frames, but nothing to keep a page trapped in a frame.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
