Hi there, after reading posts here for a few months, I've built the
courage to see if someone can see where I"m going wrong in the webpage
I've been working on.
In particular the horizontal nav bar accross the top of the page.
viewd here http://foundations.port5.com/currprojects/babylon.html
I am running win XP and have tested in both Avant (MSIE) and Opera
7.23
the result is a different problem in each.

Hi,
I'm coding a shopping cart in asp. I store all info about ordered items,
customer's coordonates, etc...into cookies.
When the order is complete I use "CDONTS.NewMail" to send an order
confirmation's email, where all items and details are listed for the
customer.
As to retreive all these info a code reads all info stored in the cookies.
If a run my code under Firefox and Konqeror , all works well and the sent
email contains all info....

I have a frame set (as per MS FrontPage 2000). It has a contents and a main
frame. The contents frame has a menu bar written with with javascript (in
the context of a table). In IE6.1 everything works fine as it also does in
firefox if I call the contents frame directly (i.e. outside of its
frameset). However, if I call my main page (index.html) which invokes the
frame set, the contents frame javascript menubar onmouseover function...

I have managed to communicate between forms and Java applets. A button
press sends the content of the text area to an applet, a second button
gets some text from the applet and puts it into the textarea.
However, at the start, there is a delay of several seconds, before any
of the buttons react to a click. After the first reaction has happened,
all further clicks work immediately.
Is this meant to be so, or can I speed up the first...

Hi there,
I am having a problem with the behavior of Firefox, where lefthand
column content is not resized properly after it is "collapsed" and then
"re-expanded". An online demo is available here:
http://s161149005.onlinehome.us/DEMOS/FF/RESIZE_PROB/main/frameset.asp
It works fine in IE 6, but in Firefox, it is broken. Specifically,
when the page/frameset first loads in either browser, it looks correct.
But when you click the...

Hi All,
I have inherited a web page that includes lots of javascript. When I
click on some things, the CPU utilization on the browser machine goes
to 100% and the browser becomes unresponsive until it is done doing
whatever it is doing.
Is there any clever way (in any browser) to interrupt or pause the
execution of the javascript so that I can identify what is running
that is taking so long?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
