What is the recommended way of generating HTML from Python? I know of
HTMLGen and of
few recipes in the Cookbook, but is there something which is more or
less standard?
Also, are there plans to include a module for HTML generation in the
standard library?
I really would like to see some standardization in this area.

I'm trying to implement XHTML standards in my ASP.NET web pages but
whenever I use web controls I get problems because of the very strict
nature of W3C XHTML (transitional version is picky but strict1.1 very
severe!)
e.g. align="Center" fails validation because of the capital "C" - this
makes asp:Calendar control unuseable because it happens to use this
tag for each of the cells. Also Javascript tags require a 'type'
attribute...etc

I have been trying to get a better understanding of simple HTML, but I
am finding conflicting information is very common. Not only that, even
in what seemed elementary and without any possibility of getting wrong
it seems I am on very shaky ground .
For example, pretty much every book and web course on html that I have
read tells me I must include <html>, <head> and <body> tag pairs.
I have always done that, and never questioned it. ...

Hi guys,
I have to simulate the removing of a file in Windows with Javascript: in
other words I drag an image above a layer and the image disappears (like the
recycle bin).
I know (or better I thought to know) the way to write the script: in effect
I'm not able to indicate to browser that the image is above the layer.
This is the code (in short):

So I have a non trivial ASP.NET 1.1 Web Application with custom controls
emitting HTML markup and good deal of static HTML in the aspx pages.
I'm wanting to make this thing fully XHTML 1.0 compliant.
My primary question is this: Can I reasonably migrate from HTML 4.0 to XHTML
1.0 *incrementally*??? Or would everything totally break.
To clarify, I want to put different pieces into production at different
times (for a bunch of...

A couple years ago it seemed like XHTML was the direction of most web
markup, a foregone conclusion. Now I return to the scene and I see many
here recommending that authors stick to HTML, albeit in strict mode.
What happened? Why the shift? What's the problem with XHTML that has
everyone saying it be avoided in most cases? Can I take it that this
group seems to think HTML5 is going to be the future direction of the
web rather than...

I have a textbox, and I want to search the contents of it and replace
all instances of a certain word, and replace that word with something
else. For the purposes of this it could be replacing "green" with

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
