I'm looking to see if anyone has experienced this...
I've got a dropdown that I'm populating dynamically and the items
include HTML special characters (like Ô). If I load them from an
existing JavaScript array I don't have any problems, but I'm generating
the arrays dynamically, then populating my dropdown dynamically with
the onload event.
I've tried setting multiple encodings in the meta tag with no success.
Please let me know if you have a solution.
Thanks,

JavaScript operates with Unicode characters only and exclusively; it
doesn't matter what the page encoding is or what input is in form
elements: it "sees" it as Unicode.
So either type in Unicode characters directly or use Unicode escape
sequences \uXXXX This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

I have a database that has been populated with content pasted out of MS
Word, and is full of special characters -- em dashes, curly quotes, curly
apostrophes, etc. Now I'm generating plain text email summaries out of the
database and of course those special chars appear as garbage chars in the
emails.
How can I filter the extracted text and transform these characters into
plain text equivalents? Is there a builtin function for this,...

I need some advice on handling dynamically added controls in a
GridView.
My app takes an uploaded CSV file containing addresses, converts it to
a DataTable, databinds the DataTable to a GridView, accepts information
via dropdowns embedded in the first row of the GridView about which
incoming fields should go to which database fields, and writes the data
to the database.
The incoming data has an arbitrary number of columns so I create...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
