Problem Enabling Local File Cookies In FireFox

2 New Member
When run from local files, my javascript code sets cookies properly and they are visible under the Firefox options. Unfortunately, document.cookie returns an empty string as if cookies are not enabled. The Firefox 'Exceptions - Cookies' menu buttons are not enabled unless a host name is provided so I can't force enable cookies for the local file.

The javascript works from local files in IE and from remote files in both IE and Firefox. Does anyone know how to get around the problem?

I tracked the problem down to the handling of directories with blanks in them. Firefox works fine in a directory whose name has no embedded blanks but finds no cookies in a directory that has no embedded blanks.

Hello All, I installed postgresql 7.3.4 on HPUX PA in /usr/local/pgsql and put the libraries in /usr/local/pgsql/lib/LIB_new. During the initialization( initdb), it loads libraries (language) from /usr/local/pgsql/lib. In postgresql version 7.3.1, libraries are not loaded and no such problem during initdb. I had the following problem: $ initdb -D /var/pgsql The files belonging to this database system will be owned by user "postgres".

I started off by trying to use the HttpCapabilitiesBase.Cookies Property (Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0) however it kept on returning true even when I disabled cookies in both FireFox and Internet Explorer. After a bit of googling I found that a lot of people were creating cookies, then re-reading them; obviously if they could re-read the cookie then they knew that the client's browser accepts cookies!...

When I attempt to enter the site, I get redirected here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=508510 and Firefox returns this error message: Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will...

This site was working: http://www.thesecondroad.org/ Now I'm told people are unable to create new accounts or log in. One theory: It seems that cookies are not being set. Our beta testers missed this bug, because the code was working at some point, and so cookies got set to the computers of the beta testers. I have no problem logging in, nor does anyone on my team have any trouble.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
