How do you cover the other widgets with autocomplete/suggest?

I implemented the autocomplete/suggest for a text input, however the
suggest div table does not overlap the other widgets underneath my text
input. All it does is create space between my text input and the other
widgets to show the possible suggestions. Any ideas what I should use
to cover the other widgets?

Google suggest and newegg.com seem to be doing that successfully.

How can anyone help if you don't tell people:
a) what widget library?
b) where is a demo of it?
c) what browser are you testing with?

Cheers, Kev

Please help, IE 6.0 seems to hava a problem with input form autocomplete dropdown positioning. The dropdown list with last entries which appears normally right below the field but when used within an IFRAME it is offset far down from input field - seems the dropdown is moved down exactly same amount as IFRAME offset from the top of the main document. Simple example: <form method="get"> <input type="text" name="Name" value="">

Hi, I want to build an Ajax based autocomplete feature. Being a server side guy, I have little knowledge regarding layers and DHTML stuff. Having already implemented the AJAX part of the app, I am stuck with the layers thing. The Google Suggest autocomplete is cool. Has anybody written code (free) or adapted Google Suggest kind of thing for their own use (like querying from database and showing results) ? Can you point me to some links...

I have a series of ComboBox's Bound to a DataGridView and I turned the AutoComplete on for them so they list all the items in a certain collumn of the DataGridView. The problem is that when you use the Tab key to finish the Autocomplete it both selects that item and moves to the next Control in the Tab Order. I personally prefer to use the Enter key (to select autocomplete items) but many users are used to the Tab key.

Is it possible to change the autocomplete behaviour to search for the word instead of just checking for the prefix? For example, if I have the following items: Big Mac Quarter Pounder Cheeseburger and someone types: Pounder, it should display "Quarter Pounder"?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
