Do you mean the session id from a web server, or session variables on
the web/app server. I suppose either way you could use ajax to
communicate back to the server. Tho easiest is always server side
script to place it on the page for use by your javascript.

I have a site which is using sessions to pass data from one page through to the next. The problem that I have is that there are only two places where the session could/should be destroyed. This is where a form is printed using : <input type="button" name="Button" value="Print Order" onClick="window.print();"> or when the order form is reset using a JavaScript function :

Hello, this problem is driving me nuts! I am using the Content Ratings (RSACi) for my website. The settings strictly "G" rated - No violence, sex, nudity or offensive language. I have a user who also has his "Content Advisor" turned on. For some reason, the session is lost for the user ONLY after he runs a javascript function on the page, then clicks submit. Make sense? If he clicks submit without first running any javascript ,...

Hi All, Just wondering how you go about changing the value of a session cookie via javascript? I have a PHP page that sets a session cookie when it first loads. I'd like to be able to change the value of that session cookie in response to a button click in a form, without resubmitting the page. For some reason, the following doesn't seem to work:

Some ASP.NET applications use Session Variables extensively to maintain state. These should be re-written to use viewstate, hidden fields, querystring, etc. instead. This is because if a user opens a new IE window with Ctrl-N or File-New-Window, BOTH WINDOWS SHARE THE SAME SESSION VARIABLES. This cannot be prevented.

Hi, I'm getting an error on my login page when using Javascript session object. It works on the development server so I'm wondering if there is a setting in IIS to allow using sessions on the server. When the user clicks on the submit button after entering their username and password, it calls a function (below) and I get an "Object expected" javascript error. This is the function:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
