but when the ajax code calls the server side script and replaces the drop down list, foreign characters are replaced with ???? in IE and **** in FireFox

You need to use html entiries to display foreign characters, for instance to display
é
you need to put
é
into the html code

Hi all,
I'm creating a Php page with connection to a MySql database. In this
page, I get all the articles (text) of a member, and when the article's
length exceeds 500 characters, a link "read more" is shown. I must
implement with Ajax a function that allows, when the link "read more"
is clicked, to show the rest of the article. It's a sort of slide down
function but more complicated I think. I'm a beginner so please can
someone help me...

Hi all!
I can't use session variables with AJAX, I can't acces them and I can't initialize the session variables. They does'nt pass via XMLHttpRequest? If I don't pass the data via AJAX, everything is OK so it's not a syntax error. Somebody else having this problem? Please help me if you know something about this, I can't find any info about this problem. Thank for help!

lHi guys!
I'm having a little problem that's getting on my nerves, I couldn't find a solution, I also tryed googling it and I found nothing... (my field of expertise is in AS 2 and 3, but I still lack some JavaScript solid knowdlege)
The problem is that when I try to send a form's content with Ajax (I'm using the prototype library), for some reason the latin characters (accents and stuff, like áéíóú) turn a mess when I try to store them in...

I'd like to start working with Ajax in VS 2008 Pro., but it's important that
I not use anything that is not standard with VS 2008 Pro. (with all
installation options selected).
Does anyone have suggestions of good resources I can check out that keep the
extras separate from the standard VS product?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
