window opening problem with my script

1 New Member
Ok, so I got this script to open a certain website...works perfect on mozilla, but doesnt on IE:

<a href="URL" onclick="window .open('URL', 'NAME OF WINDOW', 'width=520,heig ht=370,scrollba rs=no,resizable =no,toolbar=no, directories=no, location=no,men ubar=no,status= no,border=0,lef t=50,top=50'); return false">NAME OF LINK</a>

On mozilla it opens a window of the good size on the good place. But on IE it just goes to the url in the same window staying the same size.

Does anyone knows how to fix the problem so it'll work on both mozilla and IE (possibly even netscape, haven't tried it there)?

When I do the following line in Netscape, the popup loads as it should, but the parent window usually, but not always, reloads as well. <a href="#" onClick="window.open('/cgi-bin/displayimage.cgi?/store/demo/image.jpg&YOUR+PRODUCT%27<b>S+NAME+GOES', 'fullimage', 'WIDTH=420,HEIGHT=405,status=0')"> The original window should not reload, but is, and I have tested it with both version 4.72 and 7.02, and they both do it. IE does not do it....

Hello, I am trying to open a window containing an image and I would like the image to be flush against the window -- i.e. have no padding or border. Can I make this happen with a single call to a window.open function? I would prefer not to create a separate HTML page. So far all I have is the basic var cwin = window.open('images/KJV-THANKS.gif', 'Thanks', 'width=243,height=420,'); cwin.focus();

Hi all, as you can see from the subject, I'm try to use an asp:button to create a new browser window and output contents to new window But default if I do the Response.Write("..." The output gets sent directly to the window or frame that the button was contained in - if I was using regular anchor links I could just specify the target - i.e. <a href="http://...." target="nameNotInCurrentFrameset">something</a Thanks Novice

I know this is a dead horse I'm beating but why is it so impossible to ask for functionality in the HTML tag to open a window/page more controllable? why is: <a href="somepage.aspx?value1=xyz" target="_blank">click here</a> can't be: <a href="somepage.aspx?value1=xyz" pagewidth="500px or %" page height="500px or %" target="_blank">click here</a> then what about in the code behind using: response.redirect("somepage.aspx?value1=xyz",...

Using .NET 1.1, vb code behind. I have a project and I have been opening new windows throughout it. After considerable googling - I mean searching with Google(r) - I could not find javascript on a button or <a href=... to close a window in the latest versions of IE and FireFox. There seemed to be two techniques for earlier versions. But the window.opener='' ;window.close(); and the window.open('','_parent','') ;window.close(); techniques do not work for me. I.e., I still get confirmation message

Hi, I am confused about the differences between this.window.focus(), window.focus(), and this.focus(). I want to use the calls in a <body onload="..."tag. What are the differences between these forms that may make one succeed and another fail? In particular, this.window.focus() fails in Opera 9.10 with an "object not found", and windows.focus() succeeds in Opera 9.10, Firefox 2.02, and IE 7.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
