Is there any known SQL Server bug whereby a record can be successfully
inserted and committed, but then later be found not to be in the
database? For example, if there was a server crash just after the
commit, could committed data be lost?
I'm sure the answer must be "no", but a client is telling me this is
happening, and I said I'd enquire.

I have an application where I have may requiredfieldvalidators built in.
When they click submit to do the processing and move on, I would like to warn
them that they should print the page before they submit. How do I display a
warning that will allow them to "cancel" so they can print or say "ok" to
continue. I have added my own javascript, but that just hoses up my other
validators.
Any ideas?

Hi I have a slight problem in trying to set up 2 forms linked to
tables.
What I want to do is to inform a control on one form(Apps)
as to the value of a key of a 'new' record entered via a
second(Clients)
In opening the second form I set up certian fields and controls
on it from the first. In doing so however this seemingly creates a

I have created an order form that users javascript to create a new html
document when the customers clicks the "print page" button.
Once the new document has been created it then prints the document and
closes it with the following code:
<body onload="window.print(); window.close();">
This works correctly (or at least the way I expect it to work under MS
Internet Explorer, but it cuases Netscape to "crash"

Hi all!
I used escape sequences to produce colour output, but a construct like
print "%8s" % str_with_escape
doesn't do the right thing. I suppose the padding counts the escape
characters, too.
What could be a solution?

Using A2003. I'm receiving this error when returning from a
"DoCmd.OpenReport..." statement. I have a tab control with a subform
on every tab. The user selects an item from a combobox at the top of
the main form which refreshes all the subforms. If this DoCmd
statement is not executed, then I don't receive the error. I tried a
"DoCmd.OpenQuery..." instead of a report but get the same error.

I'm having a lot of trouble with "file in use" errors in my "folder watcher"
project. Starting and stopping the watcher and reading my XML file work
fine. Once the watcher is started, I'm reading the text files from the
watched folder line by line into variables and then posting them to a SQL
table.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
