Hi,
I am writing a windows form application (C#) which access's data from an SQL
server. The SQL server is using windows authentication only.
At the moment I have to grant the domain users access to the database for
the application to work. However, the database includes information that I
need to hide from the users, currently the application is taking care of
that. There is nothing stopping the users from accessing the database in a...

I am building a web app using ASP.NET 2.0. One of the requirements is that we
link to a third party vendor's site, display their content. let the user make
choices on the vendors site and then return the results back to our
application.
I was hoping to use iframes to do this, but am open to other suggestions.
The main issue is that the iframe needs to be monitored on the server to
determine when the information from the vendor should be...

I am working on two versions of an application, one of which will be a
windows forms application (which will need to be redistributable) and
the other will be a web application.
I have MS Visual Studio 2005 (along with the developer's edition of MS
SQL Server), but not MS Access. I also have MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sun's
application server, Tomcat and Apache web server. I am working on
Windows XP Pro, and have installed the .NET 3 SDK and...

I noticed the following issue posted as a double-hop issue in many discussion
boards but found no answers that explain how to pass the second hop
with windows auth from IIS ASPX page to remote SQL Server.
Problem:
--------------
I am trying to create an asp.net website with integrated windows authentication
to access SQL databases. IIS resides on WinXP and SQL Server
on Win2000 SRV. Both are in the same NT Domain. IIS and SQL Server...

I'm not sure which newsgroup to post this in, so I'm putting it in the
general one. I am simply trying to get my ASP.Net application to connect to
a SQL database (on a different server) using an active directory account, NOT
the ASP.Net user account. So far, I have disabled the anonymous access for
the web site's directory security (in IIS), and I have ensured that I have
<authentication mode="Windows"/in my web.config file. In my SQL...

Hello!
I'm trying to copy a file from another computer on the network that I do not
have permission with my current logon details to access.
If I open the folder using the Windows file manager with the path "\\
192.168.2.2\temp" (where temp is a shared directory on server \\192.168.2.2),
windows prompts for a User Name and password of a user who has permission on
that computer to access that directory. If I enter valid details, the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
