Gosh. I posted this earlier on Google Groups, but it didn't appear.
Perhaps there was a problem at Google. Forgive me for posting it
again. This time, I'll be more brief.
Instead of using cookies, I want to play with HTTP headers in general
because I heard you can use these to circumvent cookie
security/cleaner type apps (which I consider silly, btw). I want to
write custom headers like:

Hi,
I have a Temperature sensor with internal web server that provide the data
in a text format.
When quering the ip(ttp://192.168.10.220/temp) of the sensor i get that kind
of reply:
Probe 1|82.2|Probe 2|80.8|Probe 3|-99.9|Probe 4|-99.9
I woud like to import the result into my mysql database.
What is the best way to do this?
Should i use a fopen() ?
I have try with this but i don't know how get just the value data....

I've got trouble reading a text file (event viewer dump) by using the
getline() function...
After 200 - 300 lines that are read correctly, it suddenly stops
reading the rest of the file...

Hi,
I need to read (& store) all the custom response headers in an
HttpResponse. I am writing an HttpModule and hence do not know what
headers could have been added (but need to cache them for later use).
The only relevant methods that I can see are
AppendHeader/AddHeader(string, string) and ClearHeaders() both of
which are obviously useless to me. Is there any way of reading the
custom headers?

I am trying to read an XML document generated by a web server using the
XMLTextReader class, but the document generated appears to have some blank
lines at the top that are causing problems.
If I connect directly to the URL, when I call the ".Read" method on the
XMLTextReader, I get the message:
"The XML declaration is unexpected. Line 8, Column 3"

Let me start with the question and then describe my case :
Is there a way to read the raw contents of an HTTP request in PHP as a
stream (i.e. not get it all at once from Apache) ?
In my case I am implementing an API for my server side app. One of the
actions in the API allows the posting of binary contents as
application/octet-stream. The size of this binary contents can get up
to several MBs.

I have an application, which uses pop3 to read the messages from the mailbox, and it has been working fine for so many year. We recently have started changing this application to use java mail IMAP 4 instead of Pop3.
Primary reason for that :- Is we want to better meet out SLA, so we have decided to go with the 2 instances of this application, and hence decided to use IMAP4 to concurrently accessing the mailboxes via IMAP4.
