intended to be a plugin for server side scripts.

http://www.silasco.net/progressdemo/test.html

I am just wondering if it has any problems in your browsers....if you
could just take a minute and try it and reply with your browser and
version it would be greatly appreciated..

works well in Firefox 1.5.0.1 and Safari 1.3.2 on OS X 10.9.3

How do you decide when the next little bar in the progress bar must be
shown?

well there is a step() function......w hatever application that is using
the progressbar as a plugin would simply need to call that function to
move to the next one. I have not worked out all the mechanics of
integration yet.

Hello, I've read quite a bit of discussion on different approaches of how to create a download progress meter that can be implemented into a Web site. I understand that by the very nature of the way the download transport is handled that this cannot "automatically" be done... upload progress meters exist, but not download. However, I've seen different theories on how it could be done if one knows the file size. Is anyone aware of a...

Hi, I've built a rather large CGI that dumps a lot of data and a fairly complex javascript app out to the client's browser. Granted this may be poor style according to someone web design philosophy but that is the way things need to work for now here. The problem I'm having is that it appears that the browsers (IE, mozilla and netscape) are sometimes getting confused about wether the javascript code is running. By this I mean when I...

Hi, I have a Javascript function that loads a page with a progress bar for long process. The progress bar is a gif animation and for some reason it the animation is stuck when the function is called so it looks like an image and not an animation. I have decided to put a wait function that will pause for 3 sec so that the animation will be loaded then the call the function for the long process. This is the <SCRIPT> section

Hi, Can anyone help. This is really doing my nut in. 3 years ASP exp. and now doing .DOT which is a step in the wrong direction. Basically I am left with the code of a guy who has left. When I click a button on a pop-up window the javascript for that button click does a 'button.form.submit'. On the Server side there is a Button click event for this button, but for some reason it no longer fires. It worked fine before and everything...

i want to do (multiple) file upload(s) and display a progress bar. with firefox and safari it is no problem at all. only IE makes some problems. my script is based on ajax-uploader, which can be found at www.srmiles.com/freestuff/ajax_file_uploader/ . you can do multiple file uploads. each upload will have it's own "form"-tag, so that each file is uploaded for its own. could be a good solution if there are "big" uploads.

Hello Everyone, I want to display a progress bar on my web page. I have this code for progress bar in javascript in my web page. I have a button on the web page, if someone clicks that button then that progress bar should start and it should stop when the variable that I am passing in the javascript becomes greater than 1. That variable value starts with zero and it increases after making a call to another function called func.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
