Print link that doesn't show the print dialog

I'm trying to create a print link that sends the page to the printer
without opening the print dialog box on the browser.

I know that window.print() will open the print dialog and then the user
has to click OK.

is there anything that can do this?

Thanks in advance

Craig

In a limited environment.

Personally, I don't like software that disables my print dialog.

Scenario:

User is at desk.
Printer is back room.
Some website decides to print 10,000 copies of itself without a
confirmation.

In my application I need to give the user the ability to print duplex if the selected printer supports duplex printing. Many of the printer options do not make much sense in my application, and many of the settings in the common printer dialog would have a negative impact on my printing process. To handle this strict printing constraint on which my application imposes I do not want to show the common print dialog. I want to be able to...

I have a class that creates an AxWebBrowser object in the background, loads some arbitrary html content, then shows the user a print preview. The only problem is, this print preview is a tiny little window on the top left hand corner of the screen. Thinking that this may have something to do with the Print Preview dialog not being able to detect from it's caller's size so that it can set its own size equal to that of the caller, I...

I am trying to print a graphic file (tif) and also use the PrintPreview control, the PageSetup control, and the Print dialog control. The code attached is a concatination of two examples taken out of a Microsoft book, "Visual Basic,Net Step by Step" in Chapter 18. All but the bottom two subroutines will open a text file, and then allow me to use the above controls, example 1. The bottom two subroutines will print a graphic file, example...

Hello all! I'm at my wits end trying to search for what I assumed to be a relatively straightforward task. I have a Web application written in C#, and I have a button on the form that I want to print the current contents of the browser without bringing up the print dialog. At first I thought it was a simple matter to have the button's "onclick" attribute set to "window.print();". However, that always brings up the print dialog box. ...

Hi there! I'm a total newbie at web development, so I started bydownloading and installing Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition as well as SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. I also downloaded several starterkits and studied the MSDN articles on these starterkits. I learned quite a lot from them and got things started nicely. There is one thing that I hoped to find, however, but didn't. That is how to implement printing in my web...

Hello, I am developing a VB.NET 2003 application that will use lots of Crystal Reports. Sometimes the users will preview a report in a Crystal report viewer, and sometimes they will send the report directly to the printer bypassing the Crystal report viewer altogether. When sending the job directly to the printer I use the PrintToPrinter command CR.PrintToPrinter(1, False, 0, 0)

Right now if I run this program (as is)it will show the printer dialog box. If I click OK (to print), the printer will print an empty paper. How can I use this code to print a file? I would apprciate it if you could help.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
