Hi,
Not sure whether this is possible but what i want is to add an "Send To
A Friend" button, but i want the button to send an email to an address
(Specified by user) from my personal Hotmail or Yahoo account instead
of starting the users default email client.
Thanks for any help

You should be glad that this is not easily possible. BTW, it is possible
that there is no default e-mail client.
Probably you are looking for a form-mailer instead. That does not have
anything to do with your personal Hotmail or Yahoo account, though. And
unless you have a server with server-side JavaScript or JScript support
(the latter through ASP) and intend to use that for the form-mailer, it
does not to have anything to do with J(ava)Script at all.

So its not going to be a simple 10 lines of code then! Is there any
other way of sending mail from my page without the use of asp. Really
want it as simple as possible.

Definitely not, unless you use a public form-mailer service, such as
<URL:http://formmailer.com/>, or a similar service of your Webspace
provider.

You can use any server-side application that provides an SMTP interface.
However, if it is not Server-Side JavaScript, or server-side JScript with
ASP, it is out of the scope of this newsgroup.
Really want it as simple as possible.
Sophisticated and simple are almost always mutually exclusive.

I am looking for a script that I can sit on an HTML server (Linux,
Apache, PHP/Perl/Python/Etc.) that will allow me to do the following things:
1) Post news articles that consists of (i) a title and (ii) a body.
2) Show the last X posts (or, better yet, just the last X titles) on a
home page.
3) Show all posts on a "news" page.
4) When a news article is posted, email the news article (with the title
being the email subject and the news...

I have a table called Contact_Info. I have a form that allows me to show
all the contacts from a specified city and sector. Once these contacts
appear on my new form I would like to be able to press a button and it would
take their email addresses, from the 'email' field, and enter them into
Outlook in the "TO:" box so that they can all be emailed the same document.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you,

Hi
I am setting up emailing for an all Access contact management app and
DO NOT want to use Outlook.
Aspemail.dll (aspemail.com) works fine, but...
Unless you pay the licence fee for the premium features, you cannot
access a smtp host that requires authentication with username and
password.

In Access2000 mass emailing worked perfectly (very powerful tool!).
Doesn't work when using XP version of both Access and Outlook, even
though I checked the box to ensure that I was sending the email. Any
ideas?
Thanks in advance.

My code below is supposed to email me when an error occurs on the
application, but it's not emailing anything. Am I missing something?
I know the smtp servers I've tried work. I even added a App_Start
handler to see if I could get emailed at all even from the first
request of the app, but to no avail. Could someone please help me
out? Thanks a lot!

What is the best way to launch outlook from an asp.net web page? Can you do this using MAPI or is there a control that you can purchase? We are unable to use SMTP. We use MS Exhange and MAPI currently for our client/server apps.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
