Microsoft JScript site is down

VK
Something *big* is cooking: the entire Microsoft JScript section is
down:
<http://msdn.microsoft. com/library/default.asp?url =/library/en-us/script56/html/js56jslrfjscrip tlanguagerefere nce.asp>

Separate pages on this section were appearing / disappearing over the
last week (like XMLHttpRequest article appeared / got unavailable /
disappeared).

Now the entire site section is locked (for a complete rewriting?). Do
not recall anything like that since IE 3.0

It is back-up now, as far as I can tell.

It seems to be a problem with their URL. If you go into the main MSDN
page and navigate through the index, you can get to JScript quite
easily: I have just done that now, and there are no problems.
However, if you try to create a direct link, then there seems to be a
problem.

I think Microsoft have changed something in the implementation of their
site which is causing the problem, and preventing deep linking.

Sorry, ignore all that URL rubblish I am spouting. Just me not cutting
and pasting properly:

<URL:http://msdn.microsoft. com/library/default.asp?url =/library/en-us/script56/html/4af19f1b-1e9b-4116-beb6-6cde5d56947b.as p>

Without scripting enabled and without frames, this will get you a nice
navigation menu ... and nothing more. I recommend to use the URL of the
content redirected to instead:

<URL:http://msdn.microsoft. com/library/en-us/script56/html/4af19f1b-1e9b-4116-beb6-6cde5d56947b.as p>

If scripting and frames are supported, the frameset is restored anyway.

Of course. Thank you.

I am calling an external dll (compiled JScript) from within a try/catch/finally block in a C# program and am unable to catch exceptions being raised in the JScript dll by having a specific 'JScriptExcepton' catch block. I can't work out why this is. If I have a general catch block that catches exceptions of type 'Exception' and print out the type of the exception, it correctly states that the type is 'Microsoft.JScript.JScriptException'....

sometimes in the last few months, apparently Microsoft made changes to their JavaScript documentation website: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/script56/html/1e9b3876-3d38-4fd8-8596-1bbfe2330aa9.asp so that, one has to goddamn press the "expand" button to view the documentation, for every goddamn page. What the fuck is going on?

Every single time neophytes or converts ask about naming and style conventions what are they told by the majority consensus? The answer is "do what you prefer but do so consistently" right? Yes, that's right, that's exactly what is said. People joining a team of developers are also encouraged to cooperate with their peers and adopt what has already been established right? Yes, that's exactly what is encouraged. Teamwork and cooperation...

I created a web service that includes the statement: using Microsoft.JScript; so I can use the eval methods. The Web Service won't build: Error 1 The type or namespace name 'JScript' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft' (are you missing an assembly reference?) Do I need to ask my hosting service to add something to my site?

Hi there, as I need to share a .NET context with a JavaScript context and I can't re-write Rhino in C# ;-) I'trying to understand something about the Microsoft.JScript namespace, but - really - I'm getting in *deep* troubles: the documentation is not-so-well written (missing examples, snippets, references, details and so on) so: can anyone: 1) Explain in 12-words ;-) *what* is Microsoft.JScript and *how* can I use its classes; 2) link...

Introduction : I have come across a problem, on a number of occasions, where PCs under my control fail to load new updates successfully. This is true whether they are attempting to apply via the Automatic Updates facility built into the OS or whether accessing the MS Update site directly. Reason : The problem is often associated with DLL files not being correctly set up for some reason. Most of the suggested fixes involve registering a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
