bug tracking software...

This may be the wrong place to ask for this, but does anyone have any
suggestions for good collaborative bug tracking software? Something PHP,
ASP, or ASP.NET based would be fine - but bugzilla seems way to hard to
set up, so I'm actually looking for an alternative to that.

If I need to justify this post, I would say that I will use this to
track the issues related to various javascript related projects ;-)

So what do you guys use?

Thanks,

Kevin N.

bugzilla too hard to setup???? compared to PHP, ASP or ASP.NET????

It took all of a couple of minutes to setup bugzilla, it's a simple set of CGI programs.

I'm running a windows IIS server. There are alternatives to bugzilla
that will run on the environment I already have set up (IIS, MySQL or
MSSQL, PHP, Perl, ASP, ASP.NET - no Apache), and I'd love to hear if
anyone is using some of those (or if it is your opinion that bugzilla is
really the way to go, please mention that too, but let's keep the Linux
is better than Windows or Apache is better than IIS chatter down to a
minimum).

Thanks,

I have, and found many :-) That's why I am looking for some ideas or
recommendations about specific software.

I notice you list you can do Perl, bugzilla IS written in Perl. While it has been sometime, I have run Perl CGI under IIS. But it
works fine. http://www.visualwin.com/Perl/

Whether it is on-topic here or not is directly dependent on what kinds
of bugs you are tracking, and how you intend to track them. If they are
javascript errors or are going to be javascript tracked, then they are
on-topic here. Ignore Thomas for the most part with regards to his
pedantics.

I didn't say it was any good, though. It's basically a browser-based
ActiveX, and it's lovely and slow. Find something that uses standard
web technology that just runs in your browser.

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
