Does anyone have a solution for tracking hardware, os and office
products for their organization? We are looking for a way to track
this information and then assign it to an employee and track its life
through our organization until its death or sale.
I would like to write something in Access to accomplish this, but
would like to know how people handle this process physically. Do you
use bar codes, do you just enter manufacturer/model/serial numbers,
etc, do you use tracking forms?
Thanks! 1 1689 an******@co.sai nt-croix.wi.us (Annette Massie) wrote in message news:<c6******* *************** ****@posting.go ogle.com>... Search around the newsgroup. There are software packages available to
do this.. not terribly hard to create yourself if you want.
Users---(1,M)---UseHardware---(M,1)---Hardware
the "contains software" bit is a little more complicated, because only
hardware that is of type "computer" can contain software... Then you
just have
Computer--(1,M)--InstalledPackag es---(M,1)---SoftwarePackage
You *can* use code 39 barcodes and barcode readers and all that if you
want. You could have a look at TrackIT, but it's kinda pricey. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hello,
I'm looking for a collaborative bug tracking system to manage a few
projects that I work on in our small studio. Does anyone here have any
suggestions or favorite bug tracking system?
I like bugzilla, but it's just too difficult to set up, and we are
running windows. I'd like a php/MySQL based solution, but asp or asp.net
would be ok (I guess), as long as the interface (for the user) makes sense.

Hi
A part of my application involves management of stocks in the
warehouse.
Incoming/outgoing transactions, stocktake, quantity on hand have all
been satisfactorily managed. The app has run robustly for some time.
Now I need to develop location tracking functionality.

Hi,
I was wondering if you could recommend a nice bug tracking
software?
Ideally, the software should be based on asp.net since
this is the technology I'm involved with most of the day.
And it would be even better if it were an open
source/freeware solution... ;-)

I'm working on a project that will track a great deal of data forindividuals and will keep track of users for a very long time (5- 10) years. I'm looking for options as far as tracking anddisplaying changes to the data. Any suggestions for both the UIand the Data Storage aspects of tracking long term changes todata would be helpful.

Hello,
I have created a simple canvas in Tkinter to display a number of
PhotoImages, I then bind a key (in my case, <Up>) to start a loop that
plays through a list of PhotoImages to make it an animation of sorts.
What I noticed is, after holding down the key for a certain time, it
would not loop through all 6 animations, instead it would just go
through the first 2 and reset it self. I changed the key bind to
Button-1 and did not...

The ability to assing a priority of the problem

Hi,
is it possible that due to OS crash or mysql itself crash or some e.g.
SCSI failure to lose all the data stored in the table (let's say million
of 1KB rows). In other words what is the worst case scenario for MyISAM
backend?
Also is it possible to not to lose data but get them corrupted?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
