3rd party cookie

Is it possible to check for the existence of a 3rd party cookie.

I.e. Check if a cookie has been set from Google, Lycos etc.

I know of no way to do this, mainly because I have never found it
necessary. Various combinations of my XP OS sp2 and various recent
browsers and security programs allow me to either reject setting of 3rd
party cookies or ask before they are set. If you want to detect 3'rd
party cookies already set on a browser viewing your page and report
this back to you, I doubt if this would be allowed, for security
reasons. It likely would involve a server side script such as php or
Perl. I would not say that this is impossible, because some hackers are
very clever, but the hack likely would be defeated as soon as OS and
browser makers found out about it.

Hi, I just changed my browser settings to override automatic cookie handling and block all third party cookies. Now I'm curious. How are third party cookies allowed in the first place? I thought only the domain of the web site visited could store and retrieve cookies? -dc

I am using a third party tab strip, on click of different tabs the url takes the user to different sections of another application which is running on linux. But when i try to login it asks the user to anable cookie, which is not the case when i try to open that application in a seperate application. Please give suggestion how to avoid "enable cookies" message.

I have two sites, both with valid P3P policies that passed the W3C P3P validator, including the P3P compliant HTTP headers test. On one of the sites, Site A, I have a web page that loads a document from Site B in an IFRAME. In this context the web page on Site A is the "originating" document and the web page on Site B is a 3rd-party document (since it's from a different domain). I thought that having a valid P3P policy would make IE6...

Does anyone have any documentation on compact privacy policy and asp.net session or http session cookies. I have a third party app that relies on a session cookie to maintain the state of my app in a users site. Currently my P3P policy is causing IE6 to reject my third party session cookie. I have my P3P working and do not collect personal info, add headers

I'm researching ways in which I can create an ASPX page that will log into some of the major realtor websites with usernames and passwords and submit new listings rather then logging into each one manually... Does anyone have any experience with logging into another website within your own? Any help is appreciated. Kind regards,

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
