A piece of chewing gum under both ctrl-buttons?

Seriously, disabling clientside functions is non of your business as
clientside javascript writer for browsers.

Therefore it is a good thing it cannot be done.

Here is an answer for those who are looking for a keystroke evaluation script that works in Internet Explorer (IE 5.5, 6.0, 7.0 for PC--IE 4.0, 5.2 for Mac), Mozilla Firefox (Windows, Linux, and Apple Macintosh), Safari, Opera, and other off-brand web browsers. I have gone through many groups trying to find code that didn't break in Firefox--yet still worked in other browsers. Although many people give input on this topic, few are...

Firefox seems to be restricting JavaScript image loading. The following code works fine in all browsers except Firefox: function loadImage() { var objIcon = document.createElement( 'IMG' ); objIcon.src = "/techJournal/firefoxIcon.png"; document.body.appendChild( objIcon ); }

I'm currently using css to design my website but I've noticed that when I change the font size in firefox (holding ctrl and using the mouse wheel) that the size of my textfield boxes grows bigger and outside of its intended boundries. Is there any way to prevent this (maybe to explcitly set the size of the textfield?)

Howdy folks, I have released an extension for Firefox which performs XSL transforms for an XML file. While Firefox automatically performs XSL transforms when an XSL stylesheet is attached via a <?xml-stylesheet?processing instruction, when you "view source", you can only see the original XML file. This extension works somewhat similar to Microsoft's plugin for Explorer (at...

Hi, I have got into an interesting problem. Today I found that if I type "about:cache?device=disk" (without the quotes) in the address bar of firefox, it displays disk cache information. Now I am thinking to write a Python program that will read this cache info. My initial idea is to somehow save the page in a file and parse it. But how to save the page without human intervention (pressing ctrl+s) :) ? Hope I could make it clear what...

I came across a very interesting problem recently. Basicly I am building an editor and I want to take advantage of hot keys. I got it working perfectly in Internet Explorer, But I hit problems when I tried in Firefox, stranger still I found Chrome worked fine. The problem is the use of hotkeys that are already used in firefox. In my example I have used Ctrl-S (Save page in both FF and Ch). Now I would think evt.preventDefault(); would be the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
